Sometimes, the road forward comes into view just when you need it most. For Jasmine, SparkHope provided more than a car—it gave her hope, stability, and a reminder that she wasn’t alone.
When we first connected with Jasmine, she was full of hope…and a little nervous. Pregnant and in need of a more reliable vehicle, her old car just wasn’t going to cut it. The timing couldn’t have been better, and she was grateful for the connection and the opportunity to explore placement through SparkHope. We were thrilled to place her in a 2015 Infiniti QX60 on August 8, giving her and her growing family the safety and stability they needed.
Jasmine first learned about SparkHope through her manager at Denver Housing Authority earlier this year. At the time, her Toyota was giving her constant trouble, and she wasn’t sure what to do next. After a diagnostic, the issues with the vehicle became clear—and they were serious. When she began looking at another car to purchase, she brought it to SparkHope to have it inspected.
The verdict? The vehicle’s integrity had been compromised. It wasn’t a safe investment. “Thank goodness,” she recalled. That moment of honesty and care was just the beginning.
A Family on the Move
As a full-time working mom of two—ages 16 and 11—with another little one on the way, reliable transportation isn’t optional. It’s essential. Originally from Tennessee, her family has called Denver home since 2015. “I love the city, the state, and above all, the mountains!” she shared. But without a safe car, even enjoying the basics of daily life had become a challenge.
A Different Kind of Experience
From the very first interaction, she felt a difference with SparkHope. “Working with SparkHope and client services was overall the best experience I have ever had,” she said. “They were friendly, welcoming, and extremely informative. When it comes to service providers, the expectation of honesty and understanding is rare. So I can genuinely express sincere gratitude to this organization.”
More Than a Car
Her journey led her to SparkHope’s vehicle placement program—something she hadn’t expected. After completing the intake process, she received life-changing news: she had been matched with a safe, reliable, and affordable vehicle for her growing family.
“I cried. I cried a lot when this information was shared with me,” she remembered. “Finding out my payment plan was affordable and wouldn’t affect my monthly bills was even more exciting!”
She credits Sabrina at SparkHope’s East (Aurora) location with making the process unforgettable. “Sabrina is truly a beautiful person inside and out,” she said. “She explained every detail with patience and compassion. The day we picked up the car, she made it so simple. When she presented the car to me and my daughter, it had a bow on it and the gas tank was full. I cried again.”
Words of Encouragement
Her story is more than one of getting a car—it’s a story of perseverance. To other single moms, Jasmine offers this advice:
“Don’t give up! Unfortunately, society has already judged us without knowing our story. But single mothers are the backbone to our children. We are the example they see every day. We are not our circumstance—we are the fire that keeps spirits burning with perseverance and resilience. We are truly blessed to show our children that everything will be okay and will work out.”
For Jasmine, SparkHope has been more than an auto program. It’s been a source of compassion, prayer, and dignity. “This organization is a true blessing to us single mothers! I’m eternally grateful for all that you all do.”
