When Azariah first heard about Hands of The Carpenter through a radio ad, she had no idea how impactful that moment would become. At the time, she was navigating an incredibly challenging season of life. Having escaped a toxic relationship, she moved back home to rebuild her life with her two sons. Just as things were starting to stabilize, her family experienced a heartbreaking tragedy: her son-in-law tragically passed away, leaving Azariah and her daughter grieving his loss while adjusting to life with a newborn baby.
Amidst these challenges, Azariah faced another uphill battle when her vehicle’s transmission failed unexpectedly. Her car was essential—not only for errands and appointments but also for her independence and ability to support her family. As an auditor for a local healthcare organization, her vehicle allowed her to maintain balance between work and family responsibilities. Without reliable transportation, her entire support system and routine were at risk of collapsing.
Azariah connected with Hands through our TLC Program, where she initially sought repairs for her vehicle. However, when the cost of a new transmission exceeded $6,000, she faced a difficult decision. She surrendered the vehicle and became eligible for our Lift UP Placement program, which provides access to a reliable car for those in need.

In December 2024, Azariah was placed in a new-to-her vehicle, a lifeline that has restored her independence. To Azariah, a reliable vehicle represents more than just transportation—it symbolizes hope, resilience, and the ability to rebuild after unimaginable hardship.
